1099 Independent Contractor | Home-Based Position | Daytime Availability Required
Blue Sea Educational Consulting is seeking a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher (7-12 or ALL GRADES) to provide home-based services in Elmont, NY, during the 2026–2027 school year.
We are looking for a dedicated educator who enjoys providing individualized instruction and collaborating with families and school teams to support academic growth and student success.

Responsibilities
- Provide individualized special education instruction in the student’s home
- Implement IEP goals and tailor instruction to meet the student’s individual needs
- Differentiate instruction to support student learning and engagement
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with the student’s family, school team, related service providers, and district personnel
- Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
- Fulfill all responsibilities and mandates outlined in the student’s IEP
Requirements
- Active New York State Students with Disabilities (7-12 or ALL GRADES) certification required
- Daytime availability required
- Reliable transportation to Elmont
- Fingerprinting and credential clearance required
- Experience working with school-aged students preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous home-based or school-based teaching experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage documentation and IEP-related responsibilities
- Dependable, organized, and committed to supporting student success
