SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, day shift
Summary
Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation services for individuals within the community, including persons with disabilities and medical transportation needs. This safety-sensitive position involves operating agency vehicles in compliance with all DOT, federal, state, and local regulations while ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of all passengers.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate agency vehicles to provide public transit services in a safe and timely manner
- Transport passengers to and from homes, medical appointments, and designated pick-up/drop-off locations
- Ensure all passengers are accounted for before and after transport
- Provide door-to-door assistance, including support for boarding and exiting vehicles as needed
- Safely secure passengers using wheelchairs, mobility devices, and safety equipment
- Follow all transportation schedules and assignments provided by dispatch or supervision
- Maintain professional and respectful interactions with all passengers
- Perform daily vehicle inspections, including pre-trip and post-trip checks
- Clean and sanitize vehicle interiors, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces and managing spills or biohazards as needed
- Fuel vehicles and ensure proper vehicle maintenance readiness
- Maintain and inventory vehicle supplies, including first aid kits and safety equipment
- Report maintenance issues and vehicle concerns to supervision promptly
- Complete required documentation and daily logs accurately
- Enforce passenger safety rules, including no eating, drinking, or smoking on vehicles
- Assist passengers as needed while maintaining safety and dignity
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow directions, schedules, and safety procedures
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-responsibility situations
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to lift 70 pounds
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, and pull
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving and assist passengers frequently
- Ability to operate vehicles in varied weather and traffic conditions
- Ability to assist passengers with mobility devices and boarding equipment
- Must meet FMCSA physical qualification standards
- Valid Class B or C CDL with passenger endorsement OR Operator’s License with “For Hire” endorsement
- Driver Road Evaluation Test (in-house)
- DOT-required drug testing and background screening
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Preventing Disease Transmission (Bloodborne Pathogens) certification
- CRT (Certified Restraint Training) certification
- Completion of Child Transportation Procedures for SITS
