What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct - Art Instructor position at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College?
The adjunct will teach at least one in-person or hybrid section of ART 103 - Introduction to Visual Arts each semester based on enrollment. There may also be opportunities to teach additional ART courses as needed. The adjunct will develop/revise course syllabus, content, and activities in conjunction with the Liberal Arts Program Coordinator and teach one or more ART courses based on enrollment needs beginning in the summer or fall of 2024. - Master's Degree in ART or 18 master's level (or above) credits of ART coursework.
- Applicant must have experience teaching art at the high school or college level and (if teaching online) be comfortable in an online teaching environment.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching ART at the high school or college level and/or using an online learning management system (preferably Blackboard Ultra) to deliver content.
- Candidate must be able to teach the concepts in ART 103 by establishing a sense of community with students, inspiring an appreciation of the visual arts throughout history, and responding to student requests for assistance in a timely manner.
