Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all shop activities, including estimating, repair planning, and workflow management to maximize productivity.
- Conduct detailed auto damage assessments using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software and manual inspection techniques.
- Manage customer interactions by providing transparent service writing, explaining repair procedures, and upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire services, or collision repairs.
- Oversee the work of technicians and mechanics, ensuring repairs meet quality standards for collision repair, mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics.
- Handle auto service management tasks including scheduling appointments, managing parts inventory, and controlling cash handling processes.
- Drive sales by promoting automotive services and vehicle sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to air brake systems, suspension work, transmissions, shocks & struts, brake repair, diesel engine repairs, and other specialized automotive services.
Skills
- Extensive experience in auto service management with a strong background in dealership or collision repair environments.
- Proficiency in auto estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools to accurately assess vehicle damage and repairs.
- Mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, oil changes, air brakes, alignments, suspensions, tire service, shocks & struts, brake systems, and diesel engines.
- Proven ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
- Experience in auto body repair processes and familiarity with computer-aided vehicle damage estimating techniques.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record; experience in automobile sales is a plus.
