With a team of 35–40 employees, we are expanding our leadership structure and introducing an HR Director role to support our evolving organization. Position Overview:
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for building and leading the HR function from the ground up. This individual will develop and oversee all aspects of HR strategy, compliance, and day-to-day operations—including talent acquisition, employee engagement, benefits administration, payroll, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and update job descriptions for new and existing positions.
- Post job openings and manage the recruiting process.
- Screen and review incoming resumes; schedule and conduct interviews.
- Manage employee onboarding and orientation processes.
- Conduct annual employee reviews and manage performance discussions.
- Handle disciplinary reviews and employee terminations in alignment with company policy.
- Manage relationships with temp agencies and coordinate temporary staffing needs.
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
- Conduct annual health and life insurance census and evaluate new insurance rate options.
- Administer and manage 401(k) plan participation and compliance.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies annually.
- Manage worker’s compensation claims and ensure proper documentation.
- Plan and coordinate company events and employee engagement activities.
- Champion company culture, employee satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Experience managing payroll, benefits, and 401(k) administration.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead with professionalism and discretion.
