What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Recruiting position at Blue Gems ABA Therapy?
Blue Gems is looking for a Director of Recruiting who knows how to build, lead, and motivate a strong in-house recruiting team and genuinely understands how to connect with BCBAs and RBTs.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll oversee recruiting operations while also being out in the field representing BlueGems at ABA conferences, job fairs, networking events, and community meetups. You should have real experience coaching recruiters on how to engage clinicians in a way that’s informed, authentic, and relationship-driven, not scripted.
You’ll work closely with marketing and clinical leadership to align recruiting, retention, and culture. A big part of this role is understanding what BCBAs and RBTs actually care about and helping your team communicate that clearly, both in person and online.
If you’re outgoing, organized, and comfortable owning both leadership and execution, this role offers a lot of visibility and impact.
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage the in-house recruiting team, including coaching, training, and accountability
- Develop and execute BCBA and RBT recruiting strategies across multiple markets
- Train recruiters on effective, human-centered candidate engagement
- Represent BlueGems at ABA conferences, job fairs, university events, and networking opportunities
- Plan and run recruiting booths and outreach initiatives
- Build relationships with BCBAs and RBTs to gather feedback and strengthen pipelines
- Partner with marketing on recruiting content, social presence, and retention initiatives
- Support staff events and internal culture-building efforts
- Oversee tracking of recruiting activity, pipelines, and outcomes
What we’re looking for
- Experience leading or managing a recruiting team, ideally in healthcare or ABA
- Strong understanding of BCBA and RBT recruiting and market dynamics
- Comfortable being highly visible and public-facing
- Natural relationship-builder with strong communication skills
- Organized, accountable, and able to follow through
- Experience collaborating with marketing on employer branding and retention
- Comfortable managing referral and community partnerships
