Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain animals during grooming procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times
- Perform pet bathing, drying, brushing with care and responsibility.
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with reception and groomers regarding grooming needs and special instructions.
- Recognize signs of veterinary concerns or health issues during grooming and escalate appropriately
- Handle heavy lifting of animals or equipment when necessary to ensure smooth workflow
Some highly desired skills include:
- Experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or animal care roles such as veterinary technician or assistant
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners and fellow staff professionally
- Ability to perform pet nail trimming
- Experience working with animals in kennel environments or pet sitting is a plus
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
