What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Bather - Must Love Dogs position at Good Vibrations Grooming?
Good Vibrations Grooming is looking for a Part Time Dog Bather to join our small team! We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable with dog breeds and handling. Someone with a strong but gentle touch and a positive personality are definite must haves. This is a very physical job and not as simple as playing with dogs in the tub. We are looking strictly for a bather, there will be no grooming mentorship.
Hours are about 9 am to 5 pm; days of the week are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hours are negotiable.
Pay is hourly starting at $18 to $18.50 an hour, based on experience. Tips for bath only dogs will go directly to the bather. Tips for haircut dogs will be split between the groomer and bather.
Duties would include but are not limited to:
- Being able to lift 50 lbs. on your own
- Bathing and drying 6 - 8 dogs a day
- Brushing, de-shedding, feet and nail trims, ear cleaning.
- Intaking dogs and chatting with clients about their needs
- Understanding and recording notes on appts
- Helping to break down the salon at the end of the day
- Keeping work areas tidy and kennels cleaned
- Communicating thoroughly with other staff members
- Talk to dogs all day
- Quarterly work meeting (about 2 hours outside of regular hours)
Good Vibrations Grooming takes a great amount of pride in having a comfortable experience for all clients, pup and human, that walk through our door. Kenneling is kept to a minimum and we do not service cats. We don't use kennel dryers and our salon has wonderful open windows so you don't feel like you're in a cage. We do not take walk-in clients and do our best to keep your schedule comfortable for you.
We are hoping to find a bather with the same excellent customer service skills and approach to caring for dogs. Before hire there will be two separate interviews, a personal sit down and then if things go well, we will schedule a practical interview where you will be asked to bathe a dog. We prefer that you be able to bring one of your choice with moderate amount of coat. We can also provide a dog, if need be.
