Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Safety Test Technician. This role is responsible for executing crash and safety tests, preparing vehicles and components for evaluation, and analyzing test results against regulatory and internal safety targets. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in crash testing, vehicle teardown and rebuild activity, and high-voltage safety systems.
Job Duties
- Execute full vehicle crash tests, sled tests, and component-level safety evaluations
- Prepare test vehicles, bucks, and related components for safety testing
- Operate crash and test equipment to support accurate setup and execution
- Support vehicle teardown, rebuilds, and post-test inspections following test events
- Analyze test data and document results against defined safety targets
- Collaborate with safety, CAE, and engineering teams to validate performance and address issues
- Ensure testing aligns with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Coordinate with technicians and external test facilities to support test execution and timing
Skills & Experience
Required
- 5 years of experience in vehicle safety testing or a closely related field
- Hands-on experience with full vehicle crash testing and safety system evaluation
- Strong experience working with high-voltage vehicle systems
- Experience supporting vehicle teardown, rebuild, and post-test inspection activities
- Knowledge of global safety standards including FMVSS, ECE, NCAP, and IIHS
- Experience operating or supporting crash and test equipment
- Ability to document test results and compare performance to safety targets
- Associate degree, technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on technical training
Desired
- Experience with sled testing and component-level safety validation
- Background supporting EV safety development programs
- Experience coordinating with external test labs and technical vendors
- Familiarity with test progress tracking, scheduling, and quality checkpoints
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with CAE and product engineering teams
- Experience working in fast-paced prototype or development testing environments
