Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive engineering organization, is seeking a skilled Prototype Build Engineer in the Metro Detroit, MI area. This role is responsible for coordinating prototype vehicle builds, managing part procurement and supplier issues, and resolving engineering and manufacturing challenges to keep build programs on track.

Job Duties:
- Coordinate part procurement and resolve supplier issues across multiple vehicle prototype programs
- Support prototype vehicle design and engineering activities
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for prototype builds
- Develop process sheets and assembly instructions for build operators
- Troubleshoot build floor issues related to part quality, engineering design, and manufacturing processes
- Monitor build schedules and resolve issues impacting program timing
- Coordinate engineering and manufacturing activities to support successful prototype builds
Skills & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 0–5 years of engineering experience, including entry-level candidates
- Basic knowledge of automotive vehicle build and assembly processes
- Basic proficiency with CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX
- Familiarity with Teamcenter product lifecycle management (PLM) software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Desired:
- Automotive engineering internship or 1–2 years of relevant professional experience
- Hands-on experience supporting vehicle prototype builds or automotive assembly operations
- Experience creating and maintaining engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Familiarity with developing manufacturing process sheets and operator work instructions
- Experience with supplier coordination, part procurement, or material tracking
- Experience preparing technical presentations and engineering status reports for management review
