About the Role:
We’re seeking a skilled Panel Wireman (also known as an Electrical Panel Builder or Panel Assembler) with hands-on experience in industrial wiring, control panel assembly, and troubleshooting. This role involves working from electrical schematics to build, wire, and test custom control systems used in various industrial automation applications.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem-solver who takes pride in craftsmanship and works well as part of a collaborative shop team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and mount electrical components such as relays, PLCs, contactors, terminal blocks, and related hardware.
- Wire control panels and junction boxes in accordance with engineering drawings and schematics.
- Perform basic testing, troubleshooting, and startup verification on completed assemblies.
- Update and mark up electrical schematics to reflect modifications or corrections.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and assist in receiving and organizing incoming components.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical panel assembly, machine wiring, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong understanding of electrical components, control circuits, and schematic interpretation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, and standard shop practices.
- Ability to identify and correct wiring or assembly issues independently.
Preferred Background:
- Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with industrial automation systems and electrical safety standards (NFPA 79 or similar).
- Experience working in manufacturing, machine building, or custom control panel environments.
