Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Functional Safety Engineer. This role is responsible for developing functional safety requirements, defining safety concepts across system, hardware, and software, and supporting validation activities for advanced automotive systems.

Job Duties
- Lead development of functional safety system requirements and functional decomposition
- Review and approve HARA, Functional Safety Requirements, Technical Safety Requirements, and validation tests
- Contribute to vehicle architecture from a functional safety perspective
- Define functional safety concepts across system, hardware, and software per ISO 26262
- Lead development of SOTIF requirements for autonomous driving and core subsystems
- Review safety documentation for suppliers, partners, and internal development teams
- Define safety interfaces with internal teams and external suppliers
- Support functional safety validation testing and readiness metrics
Skills & Experience
Required
- Deep knowledge of ISO 26262 and related functional safety work products
- Minimum 1 year of SOTIF experience and associated deliverables
- Experience managing functional safety analyses for automotive systems or products
- Experience supporting third-party reviews of safety work products
- Understanding of OEM and supplier safety responsibility splits
- Experience with functional safety tools such as Medini or APIS IQ
- Experience with requirements tools such as Jama
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
Desired
- Experience in Agile development environments
- Knowledge of CMMI
- Knowledge of Automotive SPICE
- Experience developing embedded hardware systems
- Experience developing embedded software systems
