Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Design Engineer. This role is responsible for developing high-performance interior components, driving packaging and release activities, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure technical quality and timely delivery.
Job Duties
- Design and develop interior components and systems including trim, IP, consoles, and headliners
- Support packaging, release, and launch activities throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align interior systems with vehicle-wide goals
- Partner with suppliers to manage component development and ensure on-time delivery
- Conduct DFM studies and propose improvements for manufacturability and performance
- Create and refine technical specifications to support fast-paced development cycles
- Apply CAD tools to create 2D/3D layouts and packaging concepts
- Contribute to process and tool innovation within the Interiors Engineering domain
Skills & Experience:
Required
- 4 years of experience in automotive interior systems development
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or similar CAD software
- Experience in packaging, DFM, and launch environments
- Strong understanding of hard/soft trim, IP, doors, consoles, and related systems
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Desired
- Full program lifecycle experience from concept to production
- Knowledge of plastics, injection molding, DFM, and GD&T
- Familiarity with homologation, safety standards, and ergonomics for interiors
- Hands-on engineering skills in prototyping and testing
- Experience working in fast-paced, startup-like environments
