Ingredient Processor

Role Summary

The Ingredient Processor is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within the Ingredient Processing department to ensure ingredients are properly prepared, handled, and delivered to Production in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. This role supports daily production needs by preparing ingredients, transporting materials, washing processing items, performing chemical titrations, and completing required documentation while adhering to all food safety, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients according to production schedules, formulas, and established procedures.
• Deliver ingredients, pallets, rework barrels, and totes to Production areas using approved material‑handling equipment.
• Wash, sanitize, and maintain processing items and equipment required for daily operations.
• Perform required chemical titrations accurately and in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and legibly for applicable Ingredient Processing operations.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), food safety requirements, and safety policies.
• Monitor ingredient quality and report any quality, safety, or operational concerns to leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic understanding of food manufacturing and ingredient handling principles.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and chemical titrations accurately.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and process control.

• Willingness to cross‑train across multiple Ingredient Processing tasks and operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or a regulated environment preferred.
• Willingness to complete required training for assigned Ingredient Processing operations.

Physical Requirements

• Standing/Walking: Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and controls.
• Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
• Reaching/Bending: Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
• Vision: Visual acuity to read labels, documentation, and monitor equipment and processes.
• Hearing: Ability to hear machinery, alarms, and verbal instructions.
• Speaking: Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and food production environment.
• Regular exposure to ingredients, machinery, noise, and moving equipment.
• May involve working in hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions.
• Required adherence to food safety regulations, safety policies, and PPE requirements when in production areas.
• Work environment subject to change based on duties performed.
