Aftercare Teacher Assistant (Pre-K – 4th Grade)

Bloomingdale Day Care is seeking a reliable, energetic, and caring individual to join our aftercare program located within the Bloomingdale public school district. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and is looking for a consistent, part-time role with meaningful impact.

About the Role

Our aftercare program serves children from Pre-K through 4th grade. Staff are responsible for creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment at the end of the school day.

This role offers daily schedule consistency with some flexibility in end times, depending on enrollment.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Start time: 2:00 PM daily
• End time: Between 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, depending on the day
• Early dismissal days: Must be available as early as 11:00 AM

This position requires consistent attendance and reliability. Due to staffing ratios and student supervision requirements, this is not a role where frequent call-outs can be accommodated.

No prior experience required—we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a safe and structured environment
• Lead and assist with activities such as games, crafts, homework help, and outdoor play
• Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness
• Ensure all children are accounted for at all times
• Communicate professionally with parents and school staff
• Follow all safety, licensing, and program guidelines

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
