This position is responsible for a smooth & effective operation of the reception and clerical tasks. Duties include assisting with patient scheduling, admission/registration process within the department, assists with departmental pre-certification, patient authorization, charge entry & tracking, and reviewing daily charges for the department. The financial tracking of charges and revenues is an important aspect of the position.
The office coordinator will work in collaboration with Performance Excellence and Certified Tumor Registrars within the Cancer Center to obtain oncology specific analytic/computerized reports; this position would also perform audits, assist with the completion of daily preparation of paperwork, data entry, submit grant requests/patient financial assistance program coordination, assist with outreach events coordination, assist with media/public relation related needs to promote the Medical Oncology practice, support the needs of our patients in the Appearance Center, coordinate the Look Good/Feel Better program, and any other responsibilities as assigned. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including infant through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.

Education/Training/Experience
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent typing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive interpersonal relationship skills required
- Some college preferred/Associate Degree
- Oncology experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word and other Office products preferred
- None
- Non-Exempt Hourly
