Step into a pivotal role fostering growth and learning as a Special Education Teacher for Early Childhood in a supportive, inclusive educational environment. This contract opportunity begins August 20 and continues through October 30, providing leadership and instructional excellence for both AM and PM preschool sessions. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and service providers such as OT and SLP.
As the lead teacher, you will guide up to 18 preschoolers in both morning and afternoon sessions, also serving as the service provider and case manager for up to 10 children with Early Childhood Special Education services. Full-time hours are 8:30-4:00, Monday through Friday, allowing you to engage holistically with your classroom community.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid CDE ECSE (Early Childhood Special Educator) license required
- Previous experience teaching in special education or early childhood settings
- Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Commitment to providing individualized instruction and support
- Excellent communication abilities and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging lessons for both AM and PM preschool classrooms
- Provide direct service and case management for students receiving ECSE support
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, OT, and SLPs within the classroom setting
- Develop IEPs and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state guidelines
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
