A school social worker position is available on a contract basis at an elementary school in Twin Lake, MI. This role requires expertise in providing social work services within an educational setting to support students social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and write comprehensive reports.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings alongside parents and school teams.
- Monitor and report on student progress toward goals during each reporting period.
- Develop and implement data collection systems for functional assessments and positive behavior support.
- Collect, analyze, and graph data to evaluate student progress.
- Engage in and provide professional development related to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school-wide initiatives.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 40 students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters Degree from a graduate social work program approved by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), including a minimum of 500 hours of supervised practicum.
- Possession of Temporary approval, continuing temporary approval, or full approval by MDE, Office of Special Education.
- Strong knowledge of social work practices within school environments and familiarity with IEP processes.
- Ability to work onsite at the designated elementary school location.
Location and Schedule:
- Based onsite in Twin Lake, MI, at an elementary school.
- Typical hours approximately 8:15 AM to 3:55 PM.
- Contract duration: Immediate start through June 5th.
