Position Overview:
Chesapeake Public Schools is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to deliver services to students in grades K12 for the 20252026 academic year. The ideal candidate will excel in providing assessments, interventions, and collaborative support in a fully remote setting, helping students achieve academic and social-emotional success. Active Virginia School Psychologist license is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct virtual psychoeducational evaluations, re-evaluations, and functional behavior assessments
Consult with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and well-being
Assist in developing and monitoring individualized education programs (IEPs)
Provide interventions and counseling for academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Qualifications:
Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
Current Virginia School Psychologist license
Prior school-based experience; virtual/teletherapy experience preferred
Strong technology skills and ability to collaborate in a remote environment
