Orientation and Mobility Specialist
Blazer Jobs is actively hiring a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support students in a school district located in Kent, WA.
Position Details:Full-time, onsite role
Itinerant support across school sites, providing direct instruction in orientation and mobility skills for students with visual impairments
Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to promote independence and safe navigation skills
Caseload information will be provided during the district interview
Bachelors or Masters degree in Orientation and Mobility or a related field from an accredited program
Current certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP)
Must meet all Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) requirements for school-based service providers
Strong knowledge of mobility aids, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies for students with visual impairments
Preferred: Prior school-based experience and excellent collaboration/communication skills
