Make an impact every day by supporting students with autism in specialized classroom settings. Immediate contract openings are available for Autism Support Interventionists to work closely with children and adolescents, helping them achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Assignments follow the school calendar through June 2027, with location options in Carbon and Lehigh County. Interviews are in-person only. Expect to work 32.5–35 hours per week in a hands-on, collaborative environment with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans, utilizing best practices such as visual schedules, PECS, AAC devices, and social stories
- Monitor and collect data related to behavioral and academic progress for IEPs
- Facilitate classroom routines, support transitions, and foster communication and social skill development
- Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, hygiene, toileting, and mobility when required
- Maintain calm, consistent support during crisis situations, addressing aggressive or self-injurious behaviors as needed
- Collaborate daily with teachers, behavior specialists, and therapists
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Human Services, or related field preferred (Associate’s degree considered with applicable experience)
- At least one year of experience (three preferred) working in special education, behavioral health, residential treatment, or related settings
- Ability to confidently support students exhibiting intense behavioral and communication challenges
- Familiarity with ABA principles, crisis intervention, or school-based special education settings highly valued
