Teacher's Aide | Whitehall, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful impact in the classroom as an Autism Support Interventionist, working with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder in highly structured educational environments. In this contract position near Whitehall, PA, you'll join a collaborative team environment, providing essential support from now until June 11, 2027, with assignments following the school calendar. Openings are available in both Carbon and Lehigh Counties, offering 32.5–35 hours per week. Interviews for this opportunity are conducted in person only.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one and small-group support using evidence-based strategies: visual schedules, PECS, AAC devices, social stories, sensory supports, and reinforcement systems.
• Implement and track Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) alongside teachers, behavior specialists, and therapists.
• Document behavioral and academic progress for IEP monitoring.
• Assist students with personal care needs, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility when required.
• Foster communication and social skill development through daily routines.
• Maintain a calm, steady approach when handling challenging behaviors such as aggression, elopement, or emotional dysregulation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, Human Services, or a closely related field is preferred; candidates with an Associate’s degree and a minimum of one year of relevant experience will also be considered.
• Experience supporting children or adolescents with autism, emotional or behavioral disabilities, or involvement in ABA, behavioral health, residential treatment, or school-based special education.
• Strong data collection, communication, and teamwork skills are required.
