Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred
- Ability to meet state requirements to work as a paraprofessional under Rhode Island Department of Education regulations
- Comfortable assisting with daily living tasks, including toileting and diaper changing
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting students with diverse needs, including language disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist up to 11 students in grades K-3 with varying disabilities in academic and daily living activities
- Thrive within a classroom that fosters teamwork, with six rotating TAs providing mutual support
- Implement educational activities and individualized support plans under teacher supervision
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment by addressing students’ educational and personal care needs
- Help guide positive social interactions, encourage participation, and support students’ personal growth
