What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Learning Center Assistant Group Supervisor position at Blair Regional YMCA?
The Blair Regional YMCA Early Learning Center is currently hiring an Assistant Group Supervisor in the Toddler Room.
Applicants should be available to work various shifts Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:30AM to 5:30PM averaging 25-30 hours per week, with the possibility of more hours.
Responsible for the following:
- Working with a team to ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children
- Implementing age-appropriate activities and engaging in play
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and positive environment
- Demonstrating increased understanding of child growth and development in working with children, recording activities, and communicating with parents
- Participate in meetings and ongoing trainings which includes fire safety, first aid training, CPR and 9 additional training hours in the areas as required by state licensing
SKILLS:
- Understanding of child growth and development
- Ability to role-model for children
- Ability to apply an understanding of development levels to activities
- Ability to meet the social-emotional, physical and cognitive developmental need of children
- General knowledge of health, safety and first aid
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
AND
- Child Development Associate Certificate
- -OR- 2 years of experience in a childcare setting
