The Blair Regional YMCA is seeking staff for the Before & After School Program. This position works a split shift from 6:30AM-8:45AM and 3:15PM-5:30PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsible for the following:
- Along with a group supervisor, responsible for the overall supervision of a group of up to 24 children between the ages of 5-12.
- Ensuring the care, safety, and well being of all the children in the group- at all times.
- Implementing and participating in planned activities that fit children’s needs and interests.
- Effective communication, verbally and in writing, with parents throughout the year and during parent-teacher conferences.
SKILLS:
- An understanding of school-age growth and development.
- Ability to apply this understanding to appropriate activities.
- Ability to work with school-age children in a calm, positive way
- Ability to meet social-emotional, physical, and developmental needs of individual school-age children.
- Ability to oversee both small and large groups of children at the same time.
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and pleasant environment.
- General knowledge of nutrition, health, and first aid.
- Ability to maintain a positive relationship with children, co-workers, and parents.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in education or human service field
- -OR-
- Associate degree (or 30 credits) in education or a related field plus 1 year of experience
- -OR-
- Two years of experience working with children
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Act 33/35 clearances (child abuse and state police criminal), FBI clearance
- Health assessment
- Two written references
- Available to work both AM and PM shift Monday-Friday, school holidays, and in-service days
- Pre-Service Training and additional trainings required by the Department of Human Services
- High School Diploma
- Must be at least 18 years old

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
