Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Environmental Services (EVS) / Custodial Leader to oversee hospital housekeeping operations onsite in Grand Forks, ND. This leadership role is responsible for managing Environmental Services teams and ensuring a clean, safe, and infection-controlled healthcare environment.
You will provide strategic direction for a major regional health system serving 230,000 residents across Northeast North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota. This role directly impacts patient safety, hospital cleanliness, and overall care experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hospital Environmental Services (EVS) / housekeeping operations
- Drive patient, visitor, and client satisfaction scores
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Supervise, train, and develop EVS management and staff teams
- Manage budgets, operational systems, and performance metrics
- Partner with Infection Prevention and hospital leadership teams
- Oversee vendor management, contracts, and facility projects
- Implement quality assurance and continuous improvement programs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and high-performing hospital environment
Qualifications:
- 5 years of management experience
- 3–5 years of director-level EVS, custodial, or hospital housekeeping experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Strong background in healthcare environmental services operations
- Experience with budgeting, vendor management, or contract oversight
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Ability to analyze data and drive operational performance improvements
- Proficient in computer systems and reporting tools
Preferred Experience:
- Hospital-based Environmental Services / Housekeeping leadership
