About the Role
We are partnering with a well-established, community-focused bank seeking an experienced Comptroller / CFO to join its executive leadership team. This is a key strategic role for a banking finance leader who values stability, collaboration, and a relationship-driven culture over corporate bureaucracy.
The ideal candidate will oversee all financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive long-term financial strategy and growth while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting aligned with bank growth objectives
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and banking regulations
- Manage capital adequacy, liquidity, and balance sheet optimization (Basel III compliance)
- Direct treasury operations, investment oversight, and asset-liability management (ALM)
- Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including credit, market, and liquidity risk
- Lead budgeting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
- Present financial insights and reports to executive leadership and the board
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 5–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in banking
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and financial compliance
- Experience with FCC, AML, or BSA compliance strongly preferred
- Proven leadership in financial strategy, risk management, and executive reporting
