Summary
The Structural Designer role offers the opportunity to design state of the art facilities across a diverse range of markets, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with structural engineers to design buildings and building foundations, equipment foundations, masonry structures, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures
- Evaluate and resolve design issues by reviewing multiple information sources and coordinating criteria with other disciplines
- Develop structural material take-offs
- Generate structural hour estimates for ongoing work and new proposals
- Provide quality oversight for structural designs completed by others
Qualifications
- Associates or technical degree preferred
- 4 years of experience on commercial and heavy industrial/manufacturing projects
- Minimum of 1 year demonstrated proficiency with Revit
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and senior designers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform field/site visits as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
- Understanding of structural engineering codes and standards
