About the Role:
Blacklock Group is partnering with a leading middle-market private equity firm based in New York to identify a Senior Associate for its investment team. The firm pursues a generalist investment strategy across a range of sectors, partnering closely with management teams to drive operational improvements and long-term value creation.
The team operates in a highly collaborative, hands-on environment, offering significant exposure to senior leadership, portfolio company executives, and all aspects of the investment process. This role provides the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility across the full deal lifecycle, with clear potential for long-term growth within the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including LBOs, operating models, merger models, and transaction analyses
- Conduct detailed industry, market, and company-specific research across a variety of sectors
- Lead and coordinate due diligence processes alongside external advisors, consultants, accountants, and legal teams
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and materials for internal investment committees
- Support transaction execution, deal structuring, negotiations, and financing processes
- Participate in management meetings and interact directly with portfolio company leadership teams
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor portfolio company performance, including financial and operational KPIs
- Support management teams on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and growth projects
- Assist with add-on acquisitions, refinancing processes, and exit preparations
- Work closely with senior investment professionals on portfolio value-creation initiatives
Qualifications:
- 3–6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory
- Strong preference for candidates with prior private equity experience
- Generalist sector experience preferred; strong M&A and execution background required
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently while contributing effectively within a team-oriented culture
