About the Job:
Blacklock Group is partnered with a well-established private equity firm in Pittsburgh that is seeking to add an Associate to its investment team. This is a generalist role offering broad exposure across the full investment lifecycle and multiple sectors, working closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams.
Responsibilities:
The Associate will support senior team members across all aspects of the investment process, including deal sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, execution, and ongoing portfolio management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Screening, evaluating, and analyzing potential investment opportunities to form independent investment views
- Taking primary responsibility for financial modeling, including valuation and sensitivity analysis, to assess risk and return drivers
- Supporting and coordinating due diligence efforts, including engagement with third-party advisors
- Assisting in the preparation of investment memoranda and presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee
- Working closely with portfolio companies by providing ongoing financial analysis, performance monitoring, and strategic support
- Conducting market, industry, and company research to identify investment themes and new opportunities
- Representing the firm at industry events, conferences, and management meetings
- Maintaining and updating the firm’s proprietary deal pipeline and investment database
- Supporting other activities related to executing the fund’s investment strategy
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a related investing role, with strong technical capabilities and a demonstrated interest in private equity investing.
Additional qualifications include:
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including valuation and deal structuring
- Proven transaction experience across M&A or private equity deals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality investment materials
