About the Role:
Blacklock Group is partnering with a leading private equity firm to identify an Associate to join its Healthcare investment team in New York, with a 2027 start date.
The firm focuses on investing in healthcare services, life sciences, and related subsectors, partnering closely with management teams to build market-leading businesses. With deep sector expertise and a hands-on approach to value creation, the team offers strong exposure to senior leadership and a highly collaborative working environment.
This role provides significant responsibility across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and execution through to portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Execution:
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including LBOs, operating models, and M&A analysis
- Conduct in-depth industry research across healthcare subsectors, including services, pharma, medtech, and healthcare IT
- Lead key due diligence workstreams and coordinate with external advisors
- Prepare investment memoranda and materials for Investment Committee discussions
- Support transaction structuring, negotiation, and execution
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor portfolio company performance, including financials and key operating metrics
- Work alongside management teams on strategic and operational value-creation initiatives
- Support add-on acquisitions and broader buy-and-build strategies
- Assist with exit processes, including sell-side preparation and buyer outreach
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking (ideally healthcare), private equity, or transaction advisory
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skillset
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare and its key subsectors
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
