About the Role:
Blacklock Group is partnering with a leading independent investment bank to identify a Senior Associate for its Consumer M&A team in New York City. The platform is known for advising on high-profile, complex transactions across the consumer landscape, offering exposure to a diverse set of clients including corporates, sponsors, and founder-led businesses.
This is an opportunity to take on a leadership role within a lean, high-performing team, with significant responsibility across both execution and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of M&A deal execution, including advanced financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence
- Oversee the preparation of client presentations, pitch materials, and transaction documentation
- Manage deal processes end-to-end, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors
Client Engagement:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients alongside senior bankers, supporting relationship management and strategic discussions
- Participate actively in client meetings and presentations
Market & Industry Analysis:
- Conduct and oversee detailed industry research, competitive benchmarking, and market analysis within the consumer sector
- Drive development of strategic insights and transaction positioning
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor analysts and junior associates, ensuring high-quality output and efficient execution
- Play a key role in managing workflow, prioritization, and team development
Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, or private equity, with consumer sector exposure preferred
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)
- Strong understanding of the full M&A lifecycle and complex deal structuring
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Proven leadership ability and experience managing junior team members
- Highly detail-oriented, driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
