Responsibilities
Provides patient-centered care under supervision in a behavioral health setting, supporting registered nurses with tasks such as hygiene, ambulation, feeding, toileting, vital signs, safety checks, and patient observation. Utilizes clinical pathways and standardized procedures to ensure safe, compassionate care tailored to diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility
- Perform documentation and diagnostic testing
- Ensure patient safety and continuous observation
- Collaborate effectively within a healthcare team
- Maintain a caring, empathetic approach and uphold communication standards
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid CNA certification in the state
- CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association
- At least 1 year of experience in long-term care or behavioral health
- Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, medical terminology, and working with psychiatric populations
- Physical ability to perform walking, bending, lifting, and positioning
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Commitment to ongoing training and safety protocols
