Pharmacy Technician Job Description

Summary/Objective: Local pharmacy looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician for Chester store.

Requirements:

 2 years experience as Pharmacy Technician

 Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology

 Excellent communication and customer service skills

 Reliable with a keen eye for detail

 Ethical Practice

Competencies:

 Receive prescriptions and check their validity

 Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate

 Knowledge of operation of equipment such as pharmacy computer systems, and cash register,

or the ability to use them.

 Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims)

 Familiar with medications and dosage amounts

 Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory

 Comply with all security measures, training, and quality standards

 Must have a strong sense of urgency and willing to move with purpose

 Ability to preserve confidential information

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a retail setting.

 Ability to stand for long periods, and work on a regular basis on weekends

 Ability to work day and/or night shif(s) and some Saturdays

 Must be able to communicate with co-workers and customers

 Must be able to use the computer/register

 May be required to lift supplies up to 20 pounds

 Must be able to read fine print.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position

Preferred Education and Experience:

 SC state certified as Pharmacy Technician

Required Education and Experience

 2 years as Pharmacy Technician

 High school diploma

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must remain compliant and current with training and certification.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

 Proof of identity and citizenship and/or the right to work in the United States.

 Completion of compliance training within first 30 days of work. (Training provided and paid for

by company)

 Must be able to pass drug test and/or background check

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
