Job Summary
Black Mountain Builders is seeking an Experienced Carpenter with 3 or more years of experience to join our team. Our company provides high-quality residential builds within a 45-minute driving distance from Brattleboro. We are committed to integrity, high-quality/performance, craftsmanship, and efficiency.
We’re offering a year-round full-time position to someone who is motivated, thrives working in a collaborative team environment, is passionate about expanding their skills and knowledge, and is able to mentor Apprentice Carpenters.
Responsibilities
- Is motivated and likes working in various phases of a building project.
- Is a clear communicator and has good organization skills.
- Can perform various tasks with minimal to no supervision.
- Has reliable transportation.
Some of the responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the layout and preparation of projects.
- Install wooden structures including decks, stairs, rafters, joists, structural walls, partition walls, etc.
- Install cabinets, shelving, built-in’s, drywall, and insulation.
- Familiarity with lumber species, grades and dimensions.
- Checking accuracy of work.
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Knowledge of basic joinery techniques.
- Thorough understanding of safety procedures, and proper set up staging and ladders.
- Ability to sequence tasks throughout the day to maximize efficiency and quality of work.
- Open, close, and maintain job sites to company standards.
- Understanding of advanced building science systems and techniques is a plus but not required.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
