Title: Pipeline Automation Engineer

Job Description
- Develop
company standards and policies for controls related hardware and software
packages.
- Develop
programming standards to include at least the following: tag naming
convention, alarming convention, safety shutdown convention, engine
sequencing, engine control algorithms, and acceptance testing methodology.
- Develop
standardized modular programming philosophy for PLC and HMI applications.
Develop, maintain and manage machine health and compliance reporting data
for reciprocal and turbine engines to ensure high compression fleet
reliability and integrity.
- Provide
advanced technical input to engineering and construction to assure
effective design, installation and operation of control related software
and hardware systems on new construction.
- Work
with third party automation integrators to ensure project development
related to HMI, automation, life safety, program logic, program function
and cyber security meets standards and requirements Develop PLC and HMI applications for
smaller projects, and provide commissioning support.
- Develop
a migration plan and replacement priority recommendation for existing
control systems. Investigate,
analyze and make recommendations related to reliability, effectiveness
and/or efficiency of presently installed and proposed equipment.
- Provide
advanced technical guidance in the installation, evaluation and
maintenance of software applications. Interface with management and field personnel to ensure uniformity
and continuity and to promote customer service.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's
degree in the appropriate engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical,
civil and chemical) from an accredited institution.
- Three
or more years of progressive related work experience.
- Experience
in pipeline related field activity preferred.
- Must be
versed in multiple industrial controls systems software platforms
ie:Rockwell Automation CTI 2500,
FTSolutions, and Workshop OPTO 22 OSI PI Must possess skills related to
computer and control system networks including common industrial protocols
and database management.
- The
incumbent is required to continually upgrade his/her technical training
and knowledge of company standards, policies and governmental and industry
codes.
- Must be
able to handle rapidly shifting priorities and multiple projects
concurrently and work in a functional team with peers geographically
dispersed across the US.
- Must
possess excellent human relations skills to effectively operate in a
team-oriented environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written
communication skills to effectively communicate with field teams,
technical resources and management.
- A high
level of commitment and personal initiative is necessary. Job duties
require considerable analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Incumbent
works in environments requiring resolution of complex problems in
stressful situations.
- Subject
to 24-hr a day, 7 day a week callout.
- Must
possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects
concurrently.
