Representative

Primary Job Duties and
Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
This position is responsible for securing and maintaining land, land rights and
approvals for the construction, operation, and maintenance of company
facilities.
Typical
Duties
· Provides land-related support activities to district management, including
project support activities, landowner contacts, encroachment support, and
proactively pursuing favorable land use regulations.
· Obtains and maintains easement rights, zoning permits, storage
rights, grants and other land or land rights from private, federal, state and
local entities.
· Assists and advises other company personnel by interpreting land
rights and strategies for new agreements.
· Negotiates damage settlements in accordance with established real
estate, agricultural and forestry standards.
· Research land records and title information and ensures the
accuracy of the data in the land records management system.
· Provides assistance in route selection for potential projects.
· Prepares cost estimates for acquisition and damage settlements and
tracks costs throughout the project.
· Supports and/or supervises other land staff or contract personnel
by providing technical expertise.
Develops/Negotiates appropriate rehabilitation and restoration requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
· A bachelor's degree or equivalent and four-six years of
land-related database management systems, real estate or similar experience.
· Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would
be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a
bachelor's degree.
· Working knowledge of land use regulations land rehabilitation and
restoration requirements.
· Advanced knowledge of land records management practices and
standards.
· Working knowledge and experience in land title research, pipeline rights-of-way
acquisition practices, easements and encroachment standards.
· Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation,
and database computer applications.
· Provide input and oversight on public awareness program
activities.
· Basic math and writing skills, including spelling and grammar.
· Ability to analyze and judge reports and records.
· Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to
negotiate.
· Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Good organization skills.
