What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Bartender position at Bistro 63 and Monkey Bar?
Bistro 63 and Monkey Bar has been a downtown Amherst institution since 1999. We are a restaurant by day serving American comfort food in indoor and outdoor spaces, a private event venue, and host nightclub style parties on weekends during the academic year. The right candidate will have FOH table service (server) experience (bar experience not necessary but helpful), and be able to work across the different operations in the business - serve and bartend (additional training provided of course) at Bistro and Monkey. We are a TIP POOL HOUSE with pay averaging $20-35/hr including serving wage and tips - there is a higher weight towards people with higher sales. During slower times, we run some solo shifts with a server/bartender so someone comfortable in that setting is preferred.
Job description:
- Friendly and enthusiastic service
- Table and bar service of food and beverage
- Service with well spoken English
- Safely serving alcohol (training provided)
- Cleaning all FOH areas
- Typical brunch, dinner and nightclub shift hours: 11am-5pm, 430pm-1030pm and 9pm-230am.
- Occasional coat check shifts at Monkey Bar.
- Full time: 25-35 hours/week

- Foh experience

- At least one work reference
- Mandatory requirement dates: Homecoming, Parents Day, Halloween (students not scheduled for all 3 nights), Valentienes Day, Easter Sunday, Mothers Day, Umass Amherst Graduation Week 2027.
Notes:
- Tip Pool House (all tips kept by FOH workers)
- Nightclub closed during UMASS winter and summer break
- Pay range of $20-35/hr includes server hourly and tips.
