What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Auditor-off cycle position at BISON METALS TECHNOLOGIES LLC?
SCOPE:
Under the direction of the supervisor, workers perform production, maintenance or janitorial duties as assigned to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, yield and Cost goals. Each operator is responsible for and has the necessary authority to ensure quality, including stopping production to correct quality non-conformance.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Use appropriate safety measures.
- Uses appropriate measurement equipment and techniques as trained
- Records and maintains documentation and data as required.
- Follows applicable work instructions.
- Use good housekeeping skills to maintain the work area.
- Follows directions and instructions of all supervisory personnel.
- Maintains good relations with co-workers, management and visitors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TOOLING & EQUIPMENT: All quality department testing equipment including Spectrometer(s), all grinders, Tensile and Yield testing machine(s), elongation gauge(s), tape measure, ruler, grain size microscope(s), dial/digital indicators, electronic scale(s), micrometers, hardness tester, ring gauge, eddy current testers, current computer system and software, Nitric acid, Sulfuric acid, acetone, desiccant dryer, hot plate, vent hood, HI fin inspection scope.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION: Perform Quality audits and checks for assigned area of primary responsibility as required. Perform all cleanup in accordance with Safety Task Sheets.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTION: Perform other tasks as assigned. Assist in Quality areas other than assigned area of primary responsibility. Perform all cleanup in accordance with Safety Task Sheets.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Follow all safety and plant rules. Perform chemistry analysis on all casting samples that come to the lab. Perform tensile, yield, elongation, hardness, grain size, and expansion tests on all annealer and finish machine samples as required. Record test information as required on appropriate documents. Enter test information into AS-400 computer system and other required software. Perform all required audits on all machines/products as required. Perform solution concentration checks as requested. Perform ID and OD residue tests. Report to those responsible all information necessary to maintain the desired level of quality in each area. Verify Quality test equipment as required. Maintain all work areas and equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Maintain an inventory of Quality department materials and supplies. Train new auditors as required. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to read micrometers, Calipers, and tape measures. Must be able to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division, averages, and rounding. Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all applicable Quality Plans. Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all Quality department equipment and the appropriate uses. Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of an ability to operate the computer system/software. Must be able to make measurements with micrometers with tolerances to nearest tenth of a thousandth of an inch. Must be able to make measurements with tape measures with tolerances to nearest one sixteenth of an inch. Must be able to communicate all test results effectively with others in all departments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Maintain temperature in Lab to ensure test equipment operates correctly.
