SUMMARY
The Senior Buyer reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible to ensure the availability of raw materials, parts, and non-inventory supplies for production. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management. This position plays a critical role in ensuring available product for the manufacturing lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies in accordance with standard company policies and procedures
- Responsible for raw materials and parts, analyzing market trends and supplier performance to optimize sourcing decisions
- Purchase non-inventory requirements/any requisitions if needed
- Identify and develop procurement strategies that align with company objectives, focusing on cost reductions and efficiency improvements
- Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and scorecards, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and identifying areas for improvement to optimize sourcing decisions
- Lead complex negotiations for contracts, focusing on favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement strategies with organizational needs
- Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation
Skills and experience required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field with relevant experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Minimum of 5-7 years of purchasing/buyer/supply chain experience.
Ability to work onsite in an office and manufacturing environment.
Proactive and self-organized.
Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time in order to meet strict deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
Proficient in using ERP and procurement software and tools.
Knowledge of logistics, inventory control, and supply chain management principles.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Salary : $60,000 - $85,000
