Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant – Accounts Receivable for a temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs. This role will be responsible for overseeing accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely collections, maintaining accurate customer account records, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and receivables management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer inquiries.
  • Prepare and analyze aging reports and recommend collection strategies.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger.
  • Record and review journal entries related to accounts receivable activities.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with revenue recognition and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data and account documentation.
  • Prepare reports and analyses for management regarding receivables performance and cash flow.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve customer account issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 years of accounting experience with significant focus on Accounts Receivable.
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with DealerTrack, NetSuite or similar preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA-track candidate preferred.
  • Experience managing high-volume receivables environments.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and internal controls.
  • Prior experience mentoring junior accounting or AR staff.

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Temporary Position with Potential for Full-Time Employment
  • Schedule: Full-Time (40hrs weekly)
