Special Education Teacher (Mod/Sev)

Birch Agency, a nationally recognized company in educational services, is looking for an Education Specialists/Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Gilroy, CA area! Job Details

• Full-time (37.5 hrs/week - 7:30a to 3:30p)
• Caseload: 7-10
• Age group: K-2nd grade
• Start: 12/15/25 | End: June 2026
• Pay starting at $50-60/hr
  
  

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
• Valid state license or certification for Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs
• Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs
  
  

Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher with Birch Agency, you will:

• Provide direct/group instructions to students with disabilities
• Develop lesson plans/instructional material to meet needs of student’s IEP
• Conduct educational assessments
• Attend IEP meetings
• Assist in planning and development of IEP
• Facilitate implementation of special education services
• Collaborate with other members who are part of the special education team
• Employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners
• Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers and staff to support student’s academic success
• Modify traditional education curriculum to meet student’s needs
• Ensure appropriate accommodations are available for classroom instruction and testing
• Employ techniques for positive behavioral support
• Assist in the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions
