This is a 1st shift position Monday-Friday 5a-1:30p This position is responsible for supervising the activities of the production department to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with FDA regulatory requirements as well as company procedures and policies.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise personnel; this includes: employee recordkeeping, PTO approval, tracking attendance, performance review, motivating, coaching and working in conjunction with Human Resources to hire, counsel, terminate and address employee related issues.
- Daily supervising all production activities with focus on achieving the daily goals.
- Must be able to assume the responsibilities of production Leads when necessary.
- Assisting production Leads with difficult problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Working directly with the Production Manager to schedule and coordinate manufacturing activities.
- Daily monitoring the productivity of production; making changes, where necessary, to maximize output and maintain successful performance.
- Maintain production operating cost within budget. All overtime must be approved by the Production Manager and justified.
- Working with the Production Manager to develop optimization strategies in order to meet the company’s production needs/goals.
- Maintain and monitor production goals through established key performance indicators (KPI).
- Coordinate and schedule new production employee orientation, training, certification and skill advancement.
- Working with the QA department to resolve quality control issues and assisting with investigations and coordinating the implementation of corrective/ preventative actions.
- Addressing reports of GMP violations and ensuring employees are complying with all regulatory and company policies.
- Supervise the department safety, and ensuring employees are working in compliance with OSHA’s regulatory standards.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for the ERP system with focus on developing production users.
Work Requirements and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required for this position
- 2 years of previous or similar work experience is required
- Must have good organizational, time-management, and project management skills
- Must have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Must have basic computer skills including MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Powder Point and Google mail
- Must demonstrate flexibility when re-prioritization is necessary
- Must be able to work overtime, or a modified schedule, when the company deems it necessary
- Must be able to wear the necessary, job-related personal protective equipment
- Ability to lift (up to 50-lbs), stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, stretch, step and climb occasionally during the duration of the shift
- Good interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment. Perform other related duties as assigned.
