About The Role
We are seeking a Head of AI – Open Source to lead the development of our open AI initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape strategy, build and manage a high-performing team, and contribute directly to the design and deployment of advanced AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the vision and execution of Biorce’s open-source AI strategy
- Design, build, and deploy advanced language models and AI systems
- Work hands-on with model development, experimentation, and deployment
- Fine-tune and optimize existing large language models for production use cases
- Develop and implement agentic workflows to power autonomous AI systems
- Build, hire, and manage a team of 6–8 engineers, fostering a high-performance culture
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and research teams
- Represent Biorce within the open-source and AI community
- Proven hands-on experience building language learning models (LLMs or similar NLP systems)
- Strong experience fine-tuning and adapting existing large language models
- Demonstrated experience hiring, leading, and scaling engineering teams (6–8 engineers or more)
- Deep understanding of agentic workflows and autonomous AI systems
- Experience deploying AI systems at scale in production environments
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or multimodal models
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python) and familiarity with modern ML frameworks
- Experience working with open-source AI tools and contributing to open-source projects
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution
