Job Description: The Theatre Department at Binghamton University seeks a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Acting & Directing, to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will have significant experience teaching college-level acting, and a professional background in acting and/or directing. Expertise in Black, Indigenous, Latinx, AAPI (Asian American/Pacific Islander) or MENA (Middle Eastern North African) theatre is desired. The preferred candidate's pedagogical approach will be informed by professional practice and influenced by traditional and emerging trends in actor training. We seek an artist-teacher whose pedagogy, creative activity, and/or professional experience is rooted in diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion as fundamental cornerstones of a public education and has experience working with diverse student populations. Position responsibilities include teaching all levels of acting classes and directing one mainstage production each year.
