Lead Production at a Legacy Manufacturer
Join Bingham & Taylor’s Culpeper foundry and guide second-shift operations as our Metalcasting Production Team Lead. You’ll coordinate people, processes, and equipment while ensuring a secure facility and a smooth setup for the incoming day shift. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will drive safety, quality, and throughput using Lean and Kaizen methods.
Fluent English communication is required to coordinate teams, document actions, and ensure safe operations.
Role highlights
- Direct and coach associates to meet schedule, quality, and safety targets.
- Own hourly production monitoring; remove bottlenecks and enact corrective measures.
- Run daily cell meetings; communicate goals and clarify priorities.
- Conduct/assign audits for safety, quality, and scrap; implement improvements.
- Develop standardized work and practice Leader Standard Work.
- Interpret job orders and specifications; allocate labor and estimate hours.
- Oversee continuous flow and materials delivery systems; pursue CI opportunities.
- Serve as the liaison between associates and management during change initiatives.
- Recommend improvements to processes, equipment, product quality, and working conditions.
- Secure the facility at shift end and prepare equipment/work areas for day shift.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing; foundry background is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication; adept at conflict resolution.
- High EQ leader who motivates and develops teams.
- Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving proficiency.
- Familiar with Lean/Kaizen tools or eager to learn and apply them.
