Support students with moderate to severe behavioral or autism-related needs in a structured educational environment during the Extended School Year (ESY) program in Bucks County, PA. Paraprofessionals will play a vital role providing one-on-one and classroom support as part of a dedicated team, helping students achieve meaningful progress through ABA interventions and other specialized strategies.
Locations include Fallsington Elementary, Samuel Everitt School, and Pearl Buck Elementary School, with efforts made to assign candidates close to their residence while balancing student needs and caseload requirements. This contract opportunity runs from June 24 to July 30, 2026, requiring availability Monday through Thursday with daily hours from 8:45am to 2:45pm, supporting student instructional hours of 9:00am to 2:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with behavioral supports, including managing challenging behaviors such as hitting, spitting, biting, punching, and eloping.
- Implement ABA and other instructional interventions under the guidance of certified staff.
- Support toileting, diapering, lifting, and physical assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Attend orientation and training sessions prior to program start.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience as a paraprofessional supporting students with moderate to severe behavioral or autism-related needs.
- Must meet Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualifications: 48 college credits, associate degree or higher, Credential of Competency, or CDA.
- If not currently qualified, willing to complete a 7-module certification process within 60 days of hire.
- Reliable transportation and residence within 35 minutes of assigned school.
- Ability to commit to the full ESY schedule.
- Comfortable working with behaviors of concern and physical demands of the role.
- Two references from para role supervisors with strong performance ratings.
