Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a full-time, onsite role supporting students from August 5, 2026, through May 27, 2027. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work with a diverse group of elementary and possibly middle/high school students across several locations in the Pickerington, OH area.
Your primary focus will be delivering specialized instruction and services for students who are visually impaired, ensuring their success within the educational environment. With an evolving caseload of approximately 8-10 students, you’ll provide both direct and consultative support tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Ideal candidates possess:
- Active TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) certification
- Experience working with children in school settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and support teams
- Adaptability to support multiple grade levels and adjust to varying caseloads
- Excellent organizational skills for managing service delivery and reporting
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering direct instruction and consulting services in alignment with students’ IEPs
- Attending and participating in IEP-related meetings as needed
- Documenting service hours, progress, and pertinent communications
- Providing indirect (non-contact) services such as consultation and correspondence for IEP compliance
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and staff for inclusive educational practices
- Supporting students’ access to educational materials and their learning environments
