Special Ed Teacher - Danbury, Connecticut

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school resource setting, providing essential support to students with diverse learning needs. Located onsite in Danbury, CT, the role is scheduled for 30 to 32.5 hours per week, with the contract available from ASAP through May 22, 2026.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering tailored instruction and support to students with special education needs.
• Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and communication with families and school personnel.
• Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and development.

Qualifications:

• Current Connecticut Educator Certification with Special Education endorsement.
• Experience working in a middle school resource setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
