Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year as a key Occupational Therapist serving students across a supportive and collaborative school community near Tacoma, WA. This is a full-time position in a district where you’ll be one of two OTs, providing hands-on expertise to support student growth and teacher development.
In this integral role, you’ll manage a caseload of approximately 30 students and play an active part in implementing Tier 1 supports for staff, contributing to inclusive, accessible education for all learners. Direct, onsite services are required; remote work and COTAs are not options for this assignment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Washington OT License/Certification, or willingness to obtain it prior to start date
- Experience in school-based OT settings preferred
- Strong collaborative skills to work alongside educators, administrators, and other service providers
- Ability to effectively support both students and staff with Tier 1 interventions
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
- References required as part of the application process
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to a diverse K-12 student population
- Evaluate students’ needs and design individualized treatment plans
- Serve as a resource for staff, supporting classroom strategies and Tier 1 interventions
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation in compliance with district standards
- Communicate regularly with families, educators, and district teams
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and collaborative planning
